Annual, 2 – 4 ft. tall. Has showy red bracts that bloom in the summer. Distributed through the Western US in low to middle elevation of wet areas of marshes, meadows, ditch banks, etc. Prefers medium to fine texture soil and tolerates high alkali, salt and PH. Plant fall or spring ΒΌ inch or less deep. 4,500,000 seeds/lb.
