Annual, 2 – 4 ft. tall. Blooms late summer with very attractive large showy clumps of pinkish-purplish flowers. Common in adapted areas throughout the western US. Often along roadsides, disturbed sites, range sites and dormant farm and pasture land. Does best on medium to coarse texture soils but will establish on fine texture soils also. Drought-tolerant and will establish on sites with as little as 6 inches of annual precip. Will often reseed itself for continuation of species in area. Very useful for some wildlife species including valuable pollinator species. Valuable forb for wildlife habitat improvement, mining and oil and gas production reclamation and roadside beautification. Plant fall or spring ¼ – ½ inch deep. 65,000seeds/lb.
