Weeping Lovegrass (Introduced)
Medium height, short-lived, warm-season bunchgrass. Adapted to all soil textures but does best on sandy loams. Very tolerant of strongly alkaline and acidic soils. Not cold-tolerant. Fair palatability early, and moderately tolerant to grazing. Useful in revegetation of disturbed sites with strong acidic or alkaline soils. Minimum precip. is 12 – 14 inches. Plant spring or summer ¼ – ½ inch deep. Year old seed germinates best. 1,500,000 seeds/lb.
Named Releases: ‘Ermelo’ (Cultivar) Taller, later maturity, more palatable and slightly less winter hardy.
‘Morpa’ (Cultivar) Newer variety released by the OK AES. Selected for better palatability and good forage yield.
