Medium height, perennial, warm-season, bunchy, sod-forming, drought-tolerant grass. Adapted to sandy to gravelly loam soil textures.  Easily established, aggressive spreader, good spring and fall forage.  Occurs in southern plains, plateaus and southern deserts.  Useful for soil stabilization, range improvement and cover for upland birds.  Minimum precip. is 12 inches.  Plant spring/summer ½ inch deep.
