Perennial, 1 – 2 ft. tall. Blooms in late spring with numerous orange-red blossoms. Prefers medium to coarse well drained soils, and full sunlight. Has low water requirements and drought-tolerant. Utilized by both livestock and wildlife. Grows native in semi-desert areas of the Great Basin and surrounding states from 3,000 – 6,500 ft. elevation. Similar to Munro and Gooseberryleaf Globemallow in appearance and adaptation. Used for disturbed soil and fire revegetation, wildlife habitat improvement and beautification. Plant in fall ¼ – ½ inch deep. 500,000 seeds/lb.
