Small to medium, 2 – 5 ft. tall, deciduous, and spreading shrub common throughout much of the western US from low to mid-elevations on open slopes and in trees. Fair to good forage for wildlife and livestock. Used for reclamation, wildlife habitat improvement and native landscaping. Minimum precip. is 12 – 15 inches. Plant in fall ¼ – ½ inch deep. 75,000 seeds/lb.
