Annual, 1 – 2 ft. tall, nitrogen-fixing legume. Adapted to medium to fine textured, well drained soils. Somewhat drought-tolerant, low to medium water requirements. Palatable and nutritious. Tolerates acidic and alkaline soils. Mostly used
in California but also for range and pasture improvement in other areas. Plant in fall or spring ¼ – ½ inch deep. 140,000 seeds/lb.
