Medium height, 2 – 3 ft. tall, perennial, cool-season bunchgrass with some short rhizomes. Adapted to most soil textures but does best on medium to fine textures, but requires sufficient moisture. Tolerant to wet and acidic soils. Used for irrigated pastures and mesic range sites generally at higher elevations. Good palatability. Minimum precip. is 20 – 25 inches. Plant fall or spring ¼ – ½ inch deep. 580,000 seeds/lb.
