Perennial, 2 – 4 ft. tall, rhizomatous forb. Distributed throughout the western US from mid to sub-alpine elevations in woods (especially aspens), meadows, and open slopes. Has white to pinkish-purple flowers that bloom in summer. Does best on loamy soils. Moderate water requirements. Tolerant to full-sun or partial-shade. Used in wildflower mixes. Plant in fall ¼ – ½ inch deep. 200,000 seeds/lb.
