Small, 15 – 40 ft. tall, bushy, evergreen tree found throughout much of the western half of the US from 3,000 – 9,000 ft. elevation. Common on dry, often rocky slopes, flats, ridges and mesas. Used for wildlife habitat, windbreaks, land restoration, and native landscaping. Minimum precip. is 11 – 14 inches. Plant in fall ½ – ¾ inch deep. 27,000 seed/lb.
