Annual, 2 – 3 ft. tall. Blooms late spring early summer with attractive showy clumps of yellow flowers. Common in adapted areas throughout the western US. Often along roadsides, disturbed sites and open fields and range sites. Does best on medium to fine soil textures. Drought-tolerant and low water requirements. Likes full-sun. Important food and cover for wildlife. Valuable forb for restoration of adapted sites. Plant fall or spring ¼ – ½   inch deep. 75,000 seeds/lb.
