Perennial, 1½ – 3 ft. tall, cool-season, bunchgrass-like sedge species. Does best on fine to medium texture moist soils from valley floor to mid elevations. Found along stream and pond edges, marshes and bogs. Good forage for wildlife and livestock and good habitat for wildlife. Very valuable for riparian and wetland restoration. Plant in spring or fall ¼ – ½ inch deep. 1,000,000 seeds/lb.
