Medium height, 2½ – 4 ft. tall, perennial, cool-season bunchgrass. Adapted to a wide variety of soils but prefers well-developed, deep loams. Fair to good palatable forage while green. Grows from mid to high elevations on dry plains, mountain parks, low mountain slopes to sub-alpine. Valuable native grass for restoration of adapted sites. Minimum precip. is 12 inches. Plant fall or spring ¼ – ½ inch deep. 150,000 seeds/lb.
