Medium, 2½ – 5 ft. tall, evergreen shrub found scattered in arid/semi-arid areas of CA, NV, UT, CO, NM and AZ. Grows on coarse to medium textured soils on flats, dry washes and rocky slopes. Good tolerance to salt and alkali. Good winter forage for browsing animals and habitat for a number of species of wildlife. Used for wildlife habitat improvement and revegetation of disturbed areas. Minimum precip is 5 – 7 inches. Plant in fall ½ inch deep. 20,000 seeds/lb.
