Perennial, 1 – 2 ft. tall, rhizomatous forb. Distributed throughout the western US. from foothills to sub-alpine mostly on dry, open slopes and disturbed sites. Has white to lavender flowers that bloom in summer. Fairly drought-tolerant. Tolerant to full-sun or partial-shade. Used in wildflower mixes and an important native forb for erosion control on disturbed sites. Plant in fall ¼ – ½ inch deep. 550,000 seeds/lb.
