Perennial, 1 – 2 ft. tall. Blooms in summer with blue-lavender flowers. Adapted to most western mountainous states area from foothills to sub-alpine elevation on well drained medium to fine textured soils. Good forage and cover for many species of wildlife. Attractive ornamental, poisonous to livestock if eaten exclusively. Moderate water requirements. Tolerates full-sun or shade. Plant in fall ½ – ¾ inch deep. 12,000 seeds/lb.
