Perennial, 2 – 4 ft. tall. Blooms in summer with umbels of small, white or yellowish blossoms. Adapted to mountainous western US. Prefers rich, well drained soils in aspen stands, openings in conifer stands, and on slopes from mid to sub-alpine elevations. Palatable forage for livestock and wildlife. Good habitat species for wildlife. Moderate moisture requirement. Likes partial-shade but grows in full-sun. Plant in fall ½ – ¾ inch deep. 30,000 seeds/lb.
