Perennial, 8 – 16 inches tall, tufted bunchgrass with fine stems that reproduces from both seeds and tillers. Adapted to sandy or sandy-loam soils and stony, gravelly soils. Very low moisture requirements and grows from 2,000 to 9,000 ft. elevation. Poor forage for both livestock and wildlife. Very competitive. Used for disturbed soil revegetation in adapted sites. Plant spring or fall ΒΌ inch deep. 500,000 seeds/lb.
