Perennial, 1 – 1½ ft. tall. Blooms in the early summer with blue but sometimes other color flowers. Grows on most all soils from foothills to sub-alpine in many areas of the western US. Adapted to all well-drained soil textures. Likes sun or semi-shade and has low to medium water requirements. It is utilized by both wildlife and livestock but can be poisonous if grazed exclusively by livestock. Important native legume used for disturbed land revegetation, wildlife habitat improvement and wildflower mixes. Plant in fall ½ – ¾ inch deep. 15,000 seeds/lb.
