Trifolium pratense,

1½  – 2½ ft. tall, short-lived, perennial or biennial, nitrogen-fixing legume. Best adapted to fertile, well drained, moist, medium to fine-textures soils. Moderately acid tolerance, cold-hardy and easily established. Useful for hay, pasture mixes and reclamation where moisture is sufficient. Minimum precip is 25 inches. Plant fall or spring ¼ – ½ inch deep. 275,000 seeds/lb.
