Perennial, 5 – 7 ft. tall. Prolific flower producer that blooms in summer with large yellow flowers. Native to the central US in various habitats. Grows on most soils but prefers deep clays. Minimum precip. is 14 inches. Plants are rhizomatous, not shade-tolerant and are allelopathic and hinder growth of other plants and can be invasive and aggressive in some situations. Plants are grazed by both livestock and wildlife and excellent wildlife habitat. Valuable for wildlife habitat, range improvement, soil stabilization and beautification. Plant fall or early spring ¼ – ½ inch deep. 196,000 seeds/lb.
