Canby Bluegrass (Native)
Medium height, 1½ – 2½ ft. tall, long-lived, drought-tolerant, cool-season bunchgrass. Adapted to most all soil textures, grows well on shallow soils. Usually at mid elevations. Palatable forage producer. Used for erosion control, pasture, range and wildlife habitat improvement. Minimum precip. is 10 inches. Plant fall or spring ¼ – ½ inch deep. 926,000 seed/lb.
Named Release: ‘Canbar’ (Cultivar) Released in 1979 by the ID/OR AES’s and the Pullman WA PMC. Selected as the most vigorous accession from a large group. Origin is the Blue Mts. of WA State. Intended use is for revegetation of disturbed lands on adapted sites in the western US.
