Ever-green, rhizomatous, shrub, 2 – 3 ft. tall. One of the most common and widespread of the yuccas. Adapted to a wide range of environments from elevations ranging from 600 – 8,500 ft. and precip. zones from 2 – 24 inches. Most common on sandy or coarse texture, well drained soils but also on clay-loams in some areas. Used by various species of wildlife for food and cover. Used for disturbed land restoration on adapted sites and for ornamental purposes. Plant in fall ½ inch deep. 25,000 seeds/lb.
